Things That You Never Knew You Needed| Bag Edition

Things That You Never Knew You Needed| Bag Edition

I was going to call this post – ‘What I Take Everywhere With Me’ but it didn’t feel right so it’s stuck with the current title.

What do you guys think of the title?

As I am writing this post, I am on a train travelling to work without my headphones. Without me drowning myself into the world of music or the world of Greys Autonomy which I have been obsessed with over the last couple of months.

I never knew how much I depended on an object like my headphones until they are gone (Milly they are not dead, they don’t have a mind of their own!) or until I have left them at home.

To stretch this matter further, I always tend to take a phone charger with my wherever I go as we all know that iPhone batteries aren’t the best but we would never change them for the world. In-fact I take two charges with me wherever I go so I won’t loose battery on my phone.

This little rant bring me onto the purpose of this post is to show you what I bring in a small-ish size makeup bag whenever I go outside (obviously if I only take a small bag, this won’t work but I take a big back with me so this problem never happens).

Let’s get into this post blog about what I carry with me every time I walk out of the house.

Nail File, Pens & Plastic Knifes.

Okay, this one may not apply to everyone but I hate when I walk around with chipped nails as then whenever I touch anything I can feel the uneasy scrape of my nails against the objects hence why I carry a nail file with me.

But I do carry one with me so whenever I go out and chip my nail, I can file my nails down so they aren’t uneven anymore and bumpy.

Now onto the random bits and pieces such as why I take a mountain of knifes with me and not any forks. Well the answer to this question why simply I didn’t know that I had that many knifes with me, the purpose of bringing them with me is simply to use whenever I need to eat food at work. Sometimes they don’t have any knifes or forks so that results in me not being able to eat the food that I want as there aren’t utensils to use.

However, after writing this blog post, I do now know that I need to put at least one fork in the bag so I can use some as I can use a fork as a knife but not use a knife as a fork.

Also similar circumstances with the two loads of pens I have with me, this is just in case I need to write anything down however, I don’t seem to have any paper to write anything down but I do have a hand that I can take notes or some tissue so its not the end of the world.

Phone Charger & Portable Charger.

This one is quite an essential for me, I do think it is an essential for most people now as the society we are in, we are glued to our phones. I can honestly, I don’t know what I will do without a phone as I use it as a form of communication and for music.

However, I do feel taking a phone charger with you is helpful as there are many ports you can put your phone charger in when you are out such as restaurants, a place of work and even the train station but I know on the train, by the plug there is a sign to say your can’t plug anything in.

But if there are no places where you can charge your phone then if you take a portable charger with yourselves then you don’t have to worry about trying to find anything to charge your phone in.

Mints & Water.

I am addicted to mints and garlic bread at the moment (but not together) so taking mints with you will help; so it will go hand in hand with garlic bread as the mints with freshen up your breathe and hopefully take away the smell of garlic.

I don’t know what else to say here about mints to be honest, my favourite one is the ‘Trebor Softmints Peppermint’; as it makes my mouth smell fresh and when I eat foods like garlic bread and need to get back downstairs to work, they will freshen your breathe.

There isn’t much to say about why I take water with me, don’t get me wrong, I don’t put a water bottle in the little bag that I carry with me as my water is too big. However, I take a water bottle with me every journey that I do as I don’t want to be dehydrated.

Hand Cream, Hand Sanitizer and Tissues Oh My!

I have been in many toilets that don’t have tissues or hand soap to use so that is why I take hand sanitizer with me and tissues, just in case I need them.

However, I do use hand sanitizer whenever I need to wash my hands after using the train as I feel the train toilets are too dirty to use the taps. This may sound really silly and not cleanliness but I press the toilet flusher with my foot as I don’t want to touch it.

Also hand cream is another essential as I don’t like when my hands feel dry, I put on hand cream about three times at work too.

Paracetamol and Hair Ties.

I usually take hair ties with me wherever I go on my wrist as I hate not being able to put my hair up whenever I want to. However, in the given opportunity that my hair tie will break, I do have some backups in the bag that I carry around with me.

Adding onto this, I do take some tablets with me, either ibuprofen or paracetamol with me so again I can take some whenever I need some.

Headphones.

As I forgot my headphones today, I thought it would only be best to start to bring headphones with me. Then I won’t be back in this position again; where I can’t watch Greys Autonomy, how sad am I?

Hence, before work now (well it will be in the past for you guys) I am going to buy some cheap headphones so I can put them in my bag to listen to music. To keep them in the bag that I carry with me so if I am ever without headphones, I always have something in with me.

This is very similar to the items that I have in my car with me at all times, for instance I carry a spare pair of converse with me and a blanket too just in case anything happens.

Food, Lipsticks & Lipliners.

Last but not least, the last categorey doesn’t go together however, but oh well.

I take food with me as I am trying to eat snakes through-out the day, without waiting decades well nine hours between meals where I don’t eat. Also I am trying to snack healthyish and I have recently got into Graze which is healthy snacks. Some of the snacks have a lot of grams of protein in and as I don’t eat much, getting protein in my diet will help.

Before I finish I just want to say that I do take a couple of lipsticks and lipliners with me too so whenever I am out and forget my lipstick, I can use the ones from the bag and its done and dusted.

Well well, its that time again where we have reached the end of the blog post, I do hope you have enjoyed reading this post with some of the crazy items that I take with me wherever I go etc etc.

Until next time, bye.

  1. These are all great things to bring! I need to bring a pen w/ me b/c the other day I needed to sign something but they didn’t have any pens!
I normally bring tissues, hand sanitizer, whatever lipstick/gloss I’m wearing & an eyeglass cloth. If I’m out all day I’ll also bring sunscreen & in the cooler weather I carry hand cream.
